Anjelica Huston Will Be Back As The Director For ‘John Wick’ Spin-Off ‘Ballerina’
To “Ballerina,” Anjelica Huston has been added. It has been reported that the 71-year-old woman would return to the “John Wick” flicks as The Director.
The movie, which will feature Ana de Armas as the ballerina-assassin Rooney and be directed by Len Wiseman, has already begun production. This month’s first day of principal photography for the project was in Prague.
In “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum,” Huston played The Director, the chief of the Ruska Roma crime syndicate, in a scene where a troubled John Wick (Keanu Reeves) sought her assistance. Her expertise includes teaching young dancers that art suffers and teaching fighters how to roll with the flips.
The woman from “The Witches” isn’t the only familiar face in the movie; Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane will both be playing the managers of The Continental Hotel, Wick and Winston, respectively.
Erica Lee, the creator “”Ballerina’s” concept was inspired by the moments starring Anjelica Huston in “John Wick 3,” according to Chad Stahelski and Basil Iwanyk in the film. Anjelica Huston is a legend who belongs in the same class as Hollywood royalty. Her strong screen presence always adds depth to the world of Wick.”
Iwanyk has announced that McShane will appear in the movie. The producer stated in a press release, “With “Ballerina,” Ian McShane will play a crucial part, and we couldn’t be happier about it. He has played such a significant role in the series since the first “John Wick.” It’s been enjoyable having him along on this adventure as the Wick universe grows.”
