Hannah Waddingham Becomes Latest Addition To ‘The Fall Guy’
The cast of “The Fall Guy” has expanded to include Hannah Waddingham. In the new film, the “Ted Lasso” actress will appear with Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, director David Leitch is working on a big-screen adaptation of the 1980s television series in which Lee Majors played a Hollywood stuntman who doubles as a bounty hunter. Hannah will now be joining the cast alongside previously announced actors Ryan, Emily, and Aaron.
Taylor-Johnson and his “Bullet Train” director Leitch will collaborate again on this project. Taylor-Johnson will portray the movie star that Ryan’s stunt double is filling in for, while Emily will play a make-up artist who once had a love relationship with the stunt performer. Hannah will play a producer in the fictitious film.
The rumor is that the new film would center on the stuntman’s Hollywood life rather than his side job as a bounty hunter, but there is a twist: the stuntman runs into trouble when his film star double disappears. In Australia, the movie is now in production in anticipation of its March 2024 release.
The script for the movie was written by Drew Pearce, who collaborated with Leitch on the “Fast and Furious” spin-off “Hobbs and Shaw,” and he also acts as the film’s executive producer. Ryan Gosling is also a producer on the venture.
From 1981 through 1986, Majors played a Hollywood stuntman who also works as a bounty hunter to make ends meet in the original ABC series. Heather Thomas played a different stunt performer, while Douglas Barr played his sidekick.
